where to start?

i feel like things thus far have been a blur. between my first few weeks here, determined to make it around the city by bus, admitting defeat, trying to figure out a car situation, working out an internship (and when i say 'working out' i mean to say 'fighting tooth and nail for'), sliding into a schedule juggling school, homework, a work schedule, and then on top of that, simply trying to make friends and see the city, things have flown by. a whole month come and gone in a whirlwind of stress, excitement, but COLD AND RAIN! this is california, right? this city's painted on a desert, correct?

needless to say, i've been ignoring somethings that are important to me: phone calls back home, phone calls to kentucky, responding to emails, keeping up with bank accounts, and documenting this entire experience. let's hope all of those get back on track. i just needed to get other things set in place first. that's what i keep telling myself, anyway.

i hope i'll be able to keep this more updated. i had a whole vision in mind of keeping this going and updated every day with news from the west coast so those who are close to me and care (just my family, i'm guessing!) to know will be able to know what kind of shenanigans i'm getting into: where i'm spending my money (unwisely), what restaurants i'm running into (not literally), and what people i'm seeing (so far, only pink and kathy griffin. i don't really look around when i'm out. i'll have to be better at that)

maybe this will also help me to feel like i'm not slacking off completely by not calling everyone.
