beginning

i'm definitely not new to blogging, but a little bit new to blogging what's going on around me. be patient if i don't get the hang of it right away!

i'm starting this to document all the bands i'm hearing at NACA.

i talked to keith (an advisor for SAB. he's also attending NACA, and he also really pushes the decisions and closes them at NACA). he said the blog is a great idea. he's all about it. but he wanted me to remind you all of the importance of it.

the way NACA is set up is as follows.

everyday, there are showcases. the showcases are divided up by different lectures, or this thing called the Marketplace.

the marketplace is where i will spend my time talking to agents, bands, representatives for companies, etc. after the showcase, if i'm thoroughly impressed by a band, i'll go down and start talking prices, dates, times, etc. if the band really impressed everyone at NACA, they are going to have representatives from ALL OVER trying to get them to come to their college. its a very competitive environment: the longer i wait, the harder it is to get an act, or the higher the price gets.

i am going to update this SO often. i am going to hook this up to my phone so i can send you the myspace, the bands, little things i thought of while listening to them, etc.

i really want you guys to have a say in the things that get brought to campus. this is the PERFECT way for us to get acts for cheap and start filling up our semester. but the MOST IMPORTANT way you will get a voice is if you check this often. i'm talking a few times a day, or nightly at the very least. and comment away! i'm going to make it able for you to comment even if you don't have an account. if you don't log in, i think the comment will end up anonymous, so make sure you sign your name at the end if you want people to know who you are.

you can also text me if you really want me to know what you think. if you are interested in that, or getting texts from me, email me at lpcincala@uky.edu BEFORE 3 pm tomorrow and i can give you my number :)

i am really excited to have this opportunity to go to NACA and represent you guys. but i am even more excited for you to have a say!!

so make sure you really check this as often as you can and LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!! :)

-Cursive

-Cake
-Chevelle
-Jimmy Eat World
-OK GO
-Queens of The Stone Age

I know a couple of these bands are kinda big, but a couple of them some people don't really know much about.

I like this idea and taking from what justin said here are some bands i would like to see whether they are big or small.

-Mayday! Mayday!
-F5
-Bleed The Dream
-Sound The Alarm
-Breed 77
-Killswitch Engage
-Avenged Sevenfold
-Atreyu
-The Used
-Shadows Fall
-Rise Against
-Sick Puppies
-Three Days Grace
-Kids in the Way
-Breaking Benjamin

And for all of those that arent that big i went to www.pandora.com and created a station for songs/artists i like and it played songs that have similar musical qualities to them, which gave me a lot more band names especially ones less heard of, which could be a good way of getting bands that sing songs we like but arent $350,000 (foo fighters even though i would love to see them)
